Eva Marie is the eldest child from Italian father Barry and Mexican mother Josie Nelson. She has three older brothers known as Nathan Neal and Nick. Her early childhood was spent in Concord, California. She had a dream of becoming professional soccer player at a young age, but in 2002 the ankle was injured during her senior year in high school. In Pleasant Hill, California she obtained her associates in art and then recovered to play as a strike player for Diablo Valley College. She received Junior College All-American honors and was subsequently transferred onto Arizona State University where self-doubt caused her to quit playing soccer. Following this, she joined California State University Fullerton and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and a minor in human resource management. The course was completed in Los Angeles where she began a profession in acting, modeling and promotional acting. While looking for a job and came across a casting notice for W.W.E. By chance, and impressing the talent-scouts with a successful four week tryout. She then moved to Orlando, Florida where she began her training in The Performance Center of the company.
